I wanted to make some things today but I’m low energy. I got some cleaning done, but I’m not ready for the week and I haven’t even started Christmas shopping. I could carry on forever about being exhausted and not prepared but I won’t bore you with my Q4 woes, at least not for now. P.S. For all the neopetters, it’s the first day of advent calendar, be sure not to miss it!.
I turned my last entry into a big blog post because it was hulking my microblog. Do not worry, I did not delete. I'm including a pic of the pochacco I won at a crane game arcade partially because I'm very proud of it, but mostly so this isn't a complete post of nothingness.
I can't believe September is almost over. I still have so much left to do before the end of the year. I've had this picture of the deco phone case I made sitting on my desktop for over a month. I'd love to make more deco things, but I already have too many hobbies and not enough time. Such is life.
last week I went on a trip to florida with my family. I had a great time but I totally forgot how hot it gets during the summer and was a little unprepared for that. Lucky for me, we rented a house with a pool. Words cannot describe how amazing this pool was. I spent like 8 hours in it every day. It is now my dream and my life long mission to own my very own salt water pool.

after a long time away from the juice-bar I decided I wanted to put some work into it again. We got some new mods, I made a new theme and even did the phpbb update. About an hour after I did the install, the forum went down and stayed down. I was going to try to fix it myself but due to some unfortunate events, I don't have time and patience needed to root around in php. luckily, I was able to hire someone to fix it. I'm hopeful that the board will be back up soon. In the meantime, here's a sneak from the new header.
Around a year and a half ago, one of the first pieces of pixel art that I made was a blythe doll. it wasn't great and the shading was pretty muddy. I added the caption *base coming soon* and after not making the base for over a year, I quietly removed it. Then, a few months ago mizunotic asked me about the bases in my cbox. Knowing somone was interested gave me some semblence of motivation to finish them. Unfortunately, it took an entire quarter. I'm easily distracted.
Last week, I stumbled upon a site that I hadn't seen before with so many cute pictures of blythe dolls, tutorials, guides, links etc. [click here for planet blythe] Hyperfixation mode:engaged. Not only did I finish the damn bases, but I bought a doll! I've always been captivated by the creativity achieved in photos of Blythe dolls. Maybe I'll even take some pictures of her once she arrives. (the photo above was from her listing. I cropped it and edited the bg)
it's currently farmers market season in my neighborhood. This means waking up early on saturday mornings to get delicious bagel sandwiches. I do not enjoy getting up early on the weekends but the bagels make it worth it.

I found some treasure troves of neopets art on archive.org last night. I almost cried when I found this one. This was my baby lupe when I was 12. I named her after my dog, and paid dragonflares in codestones to draw her for me. I've thought about this image over the last couple years and had resigned to the idea that I'd probably never see it again. I also couldn't remember the format of the neopet's name. For some reason I thought there were more underscores. I checked the pet and it looks like the og kawaii_lily was purged a decade ago. Maybe the current kawaii_lily will get purged so I can have her again in her 3rd life.
Not only did I find all that neopets stuff, I also found a ton of old buttons that I made in 2003. Apparently, I had a site called "buttonbaby". I had completely forgotten about it until I was digging in the archive of wonderous.net's directory and started stumbling upon tons of my ancient pixel art. Those will need to wait until tomorrow. I've already stayed up far past my bedtime!

lack of contrast was a major issue with my old pixel art. this is a particularly good example of how big of a difference choosing the right colors makes. Also, the original looks like a biscuit style strawberry shortcake. the re-do is one of those little grocery store cakes. clearly, this is the better option. |

the original image was used as part of a splash page for my first website. I had a whole kitchen themed layout that I was really proud of. looking at the scribble bowl of ice cream kinda feels like looking at an old photo. More so than anything else that i've re-done. I vividly remember making it. I won't lie and say that I didn't have a quick existential crisis over ice cream pixel art. Maybe I'll write a big blog about that some day. |

I've been doing this thing lately where I re-do pixel art that I made when I was 12/13 years old. I finished all the 32x32s (the ones I recovered) and I'm slowly working through the big stuff. I feel like before and after side-by-sides are universally enjoyable.

ngl, I'm pretty happy with how the re-do came out. Once I drew the duck I knew it had to be a gift for flonne. however, I'm not sure what I was thinking with that shrunken duck photo on the original, it just looks like a blob. |

I think this was the first 32x32 that I ever made in my entire life. it's old enough to legally drink lol. The readability on the new one isn't perfect, but it's still a lot better and has twice the animation frames. |

I bought this *vintage* cherry murakami speedy a couple months ago, had the pic sitting on my desktop forever. I can't wait to use it this summer. 
I recently had my first mochi donut. Can you believe that? I even took a picture of them and made this little blend to truly capture the memory.
With the introduction of my Captain's log, I no longer need an updates page. Plus, I was really bad about putting my updates in here. From this day forward, updates page will now be microblog. I feel like there's less pressure to post in the microblog. I've been going through my folder of incomplete pixel art trying to finish things that have been sitting in there for a while. One of my goals this year is to finish all the unfinished art that I started in 2022/2023. There's a lot to get through but I'm making progress. This ramune bottle with seahorses was actually supposed to be part of a layout that I started last summer. I lost steam on it and then ended up going in a different direction months later
I'm also working on a Hollow Knight fan site called Hello Nest. It's not really close to being done in terms of content but I might go ahead and launch it anyway. Build the plane as it's flying.
I got a new job a couple of months ago which has lead to the lack of updates on this site. I've also been spending a lot of my free time working on my etsy shop. I won't spam you with the link again as it's linked in the post below. I have a couple icon packs for phones and some twitch badges up right now. I'd like to get back to posting more specific content on here. I do miss it. Here are a couple new things:

I'm still working on the HTML and CSS tutorials. Hopefully I will be able to finish those some time in the next few weeks.
I cleaned up some word salads that I had thrown together when I first opened the site. I like making art much more than I like writing and don't spend as much time as I should on text content. I also combined some redundant pages and added a little bit of pixel art. My favorite thing from this update is this little castle I made based on a toy I had as a kid.
I'm really bad at updates so a lot has changed since October and now. I have added many pages of content, made a new layout over the weekend, which I will need to re-code for mobile but we will cross that bridge when we get there. I do want to show the progress I've made over the last 3 months with my pixel art.
It's really motivating for me to see that I'm making visible progress in my artwork and I hadn't really noticed until I was clearing out some folders today. Anywway, here are some clubs that I've joined in the last couple of months
